Just Trying To Craft: Aprons
Ok so, we love crafting. Decorating tee shirts is definitely a favorite, so to switch it up we went with aprons! I was inspired by Joaquin’s Recipe of the Week (and the mess that’s involved), to make our very own one of a kind aprons.
My grand crafting ideas usually (always) have a few speed bumps, but I thought this one was going to be easy sailing. NOPE! Ok it wasn’t that difficult, there was just technical difficulties with the printing. The iron on paper apparently doesn’t work on laser printers, and makes the art all wacky, so make sure you’re using an ink printer. Aside from that, it was a fantastic craft. Here are the steps for making a custom apron!
Create your design
• We used Photoshop to make very unique art. Joaquin requested “Mr. Incredible on top of a cow with Elistagirl throwing the cow in the air"…so that’s exactly what we made! We had so much fun making all the art together. Make sure you reflect your image before you print!
Print out your designs on the iron on paper.
Cute out each design, cutting off as much excess paper as possible.
Flip the paper over and go over it with the iron for about 30 seconds per piece.
Peel off and see your work!
We can’t wait to wear these when we make our next recipe! We would love to see your crafting for more ideas, so tag us on Instagram!
